The German Academy’s General Student Charter

This Charter sets out our general approach and your responsibilities as a student; the specific terms governing your enrolment are set out in our Terms and Conditions.

Student Expectations

As a student of the German Academy Adelaide, you can reasonably expect:

• to receive high quality, professional and stimulating German language tuition by experienced and specialist German language teachers
• to be treated respectfully, politely and fairly, both in and outside class
• to study in a safe, inclusive, encouraging and supportive learning environment that values diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
• to be given regular opportunity to provide feedback on curriculum and teaching quality as well as other matters of course delivery
• to receive timely and adequate information in your dealings with the German Academy and its staff members, usually including an opportunity to respond if there is any concern about your conduct

Student Responsibilities

As a student of the German Academy Adelaide, you are reasonably expected:

• to actively engage and participate in class to the best of your abilities to ensure a positive learning and teaching experience for all
• to treat your fellow students and our teachers respectfully, politely and fairly, both in class and in any other contact with them
• to help provide a safe, inclusive, encouraging and supportive learning and teaching environment that values diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
• to provide constructive and timely feedback on curriculum and teaching quality as well as other matters of course delivery when choosing to participate in these regular review mechanisms
• to keep informed and be aware of and comply with policies, procedures and instructions, including Public Health measures and our usual channels for contacting staff

This Charter is to be read alongside our Terms and Conditions, as per our website. If there is any inconsistency between this Charter and the Terms and Conditions, the Terms and Conditions prevail.
