This Level A1: Part I of III course offering is aimed at absolute beginners, with no prior knowledge of German required, but naturally always welcome.
Working with the teacher and their combined course and work book (level A1.1 within the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, CEFRL), the students will start with greetings and introducing themselves in German and steadily build up their vocabulary and sentence structure in speaking and writing as well as their listening and reading comprehension in a relaxed, friendly and fun face-to-face classroom atmosphere.
Students in this program will learn to hold basic introductory conversations including about places of residence, countries of origin, hobbies, directions as well as food and drink preferences. At the same time, they will learn some general aspects of German sentence structure, regular and irregular verb conjugation, singular and plural, and be given a systematic introduction to the Nominative and Accusative Case - with the teacher always trying to ensure that all of the concepts introduced are sufficiently practised and understood, before moving on to the next topic at any time.
Please note that this course is scheduled to be seamlessly continued initially as our 18-week 'German Beginners II' (Level A1: Part II of III) program during the first half of next year, followed again by our 18-week ‘German Beginners III’ (Level A1: Part III of III) class during the second half of 2026, to assist interested students with the continuation and completion of their journey towards the equivalent of the A1 level by the end of 2026!
If you always wanted to start learning German and never did, now may be the time - join us and other brand-new students on Tuesday nights from July 22!
