German on Saturdays 2025

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
German on Saturdays 2025

This ongoing and progressive lower Advanced Level program is aimed at students with German language skills equivalent to the completion of Level B2 within the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL) and above. Students in this popular program are expected to continue working at level C1.1 during the first Semester, before moving on to sublevel C1.2 throughout the second half of the year (and beyond).

Being a mix of carefully selected conversational practice, reading and writing exercises, grammar as well as Landeskunde (cultural studies), this course is designed to give students the opportunity to further enhance and apply their German language and cultural skills in a fun and relaxed classroom atmosphere.

As a by now customary treat, this program is also set to include a special cultural event and outing, this time in the shape of an exclusive three-hour guided Tour of Anlaby Station, which is set to explore this great South Australian heritage property established in 1839 between the Barossa and Clare Valleys.

Scheduled for Saturday morning, June 14, this special German language tour with Samuel Doering, a German-Australian historian, will not only take students through Anlaby Station's beautiful homestead, historical architecture and heritage-listed 10-acre gardens, but also explore any German connection of this South Australian icon - and even include Devonshire Tea!
