This ongoing and progressive Advanced Level (C1.1) program is aimed at students with German language skills equivalent to or around Level B2 competency within the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL) and above.
Whilst designed as a seamless continuation from Semester 1 of our 'German on Saturdays 2024' class, this popular program run by Frauke Guenther is also very much open to and warmly welcoming new similar level students seeking to continue learning German and to consolidate their existing language skills at any time.
Being a colourful mix of carefully selected conversational practice, reading and writing exercises, grammar as well as Landeskunde (cultural studies), this course is designed to give students the opportunity to further enhance and apply their German language and cultural skills in a fun and relaxed classroom atmosphere, with students expected to continue working at Advanced Level throughout the year - and beyond.
If you always wanted to continue learning German and consolidate your existing language skills, now may be the time - join us and other Advanced Level students on Saturday mornings!
Currently scheduled for October 26, as Semester 2's cultural event, this program is also set to include a two-hour Walking Tour of Eudunda with Samuel Doering, a German-Australian historian, which is set to explore this South Australian town's rich and highly interesting German heritage. This exclusive German language tour will take a close look at the lives and livelihoods of the German people of Eudunda in the 19th as well as the 20th century, when the First World War changed their lives forever, with their native German language being suppressed and their national loyalty getting tested - even at gunpoint...
